Cooking Directions:

Wash the vegetables. Peal the carrots and cut them in small cubes. Finely chop the onion.

If using fresh peas, wash and sort them discarding small stones, dirt and the damaged peas.

Heat a large skillet. Add some oil and saute the onion for 5 minutes.

Add the ground beef and stir fry on high heat for 5 minutes until lightly brown. Stir frequently.

At this point, lower the heat before adding the cubed carrots and the peas in the pan. Briefly stir fry for a couple of minutes and then add 1 cup of water.

Add the sage leaves, adjust of salt and pepper, stir well and cover.

Let simmer at low flame for about 10 minutes, stirring from time to time and adding more water if necessary.

When the 10 minutes have passed, check if the vegetables are evenly cooked. If they are ready, uncover and let quickly evaporate the water in excess.

Remove from heat, garnish with some fresh sage leaves and serve. Great when served as side dish with steaks and roasts.

Tips:

If using precooked frozen peas and/or carrots reduce the cooking time accordingly.
