Pizzaiola Steak - Recipe


The recipe for the well known Italian bistecca alla pizzaiola with beef steak, mozzarella cheese and ham.



Preparation time: 15 minutes

Servings: 4





Ingredients


Beef steaks

4

Ham, sliced

4 slices

Mozzarella Cheese, sliced

4 slices

Tomato sauce

1/3 12 oz can

Oregano

to taste

Salt

to taste



Cooking Instructions


  • In a large heavy pan, cook the steaks almost to desired doneness.
  • When almost ready, lay a slice of ham on top of the patty.
  • Lay a mozzarella cheese and cover each steak with 1-2 tbsps of tomato (either sauce or diced)
  • Add some oregano and adjust with salt, to taste
  • Cover and continue to cook at medium heat until the mozzarella cheese is melted.

Tips:


Best served with steamed rice or your best choice of french fries
