Pizzaiola Steak - RecipeThe recipe for the well known Italian bistecca alla pizzaiola with beef steak, mozzarella cheese and ham. Preparation time: 15 minutes Servings: 4
Ingredients
| • | Beef steaks | 4 | | • | Ham, sliced | 4 slices | | • | Mozzarella Cheese, sliced | 4 slices | | • | Tomato sauce | 1/3 12 oz can | | • | Oregano | to taste | | • | Salt | to taste |
Cooking Instructions
- In a large heavy pan, cook the steaks almost to desired doneness.
- When almost ready, lay a slice of ham on top of the patty.
- Lay a mozzarella cheese and cover each steak with 1-2 tbsps of tomato (either sauce or diced)
- Add some oregano and adjust with salt, to taste
- Cover and continue to cook at medium heat until the mozzarella cheese is melted.
Tips:
Best served with steamed rice or your best choice of french fries
