Frankfurters with Cabbage - Recipe


Frankfurters with Cabbage is a complete meal that match vegetables and meat. This recipe is an original way to enjoy the cabbages and the frankfurters.

Ingredients


Cabbage

1 big

Frankfurters, beef, pork and turkey

Red wine

1/2 cup

Onions, finely chopped

1

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

3 tbsps

Salt

to taste

Pepper

to taste



Cooking Instructions


  • Shred the cabbage and finely chop the onion.
  • In a large skillet saute the onion in the extra virgin olive oil.
  • When the onions are caramelized quickly add the cabbage and the red wine. Saute for about 5 minutes. Adjust of salt and pepper.
  • Add 2 cups of water, lower the heat and cover. Let cook for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Add the Frankfurter sausages cut in pieces and cook for another 20 minutes or until ready.
  • Serve hot. Lay the frankfurters (also known as wurstel) in the plate, surrounded by the cooked cabbage as side.
