Penne alla pizzaiola - RecipeAn easy an quick pasta recipe for a delicious pizzaiola pasta with mozzarella cheese and tomatoes! Preparation time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
| • | Penne | 1 lb | | • | Onions, finely chopped | 1 | | • | Extra Virgin Olive Oil | 2 tbsps | | • | Mozzarella Cheese, fresh, in water | 2 | | • | Tomato sauce | 1 12 oz can | | • | Oregano | to taste | | • | Salt | to taste |
Cooking Instructions
- While boiling the water for your pasta, cut finely the onion and saute with olive oil until caramelized
- Ass the tomato sauce, simmer and cook, covered, on medium heat for about 10 minutes
- In the meantime cut the mozzarella cheese in small cubes of about 1/3 inches and save for later
- When your pasta is ready (al dente), add the oregano to the tomato sauce
- Add the mozzarella cheese on each plate just before serving and mix, to slighlty melt the mozzarella
Tips:
The use of fresh mozzarella cheese will give you the best results. However, you can use the shredded mozzarella cheese instead
